Water supply disrupted in Kansanga as NWSC repairs damaged pipeline

KAMPALA; The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has announced plans to improve water supply services in Nabingo, Maya, Nakirama, Kasenge and Kyambazi, saying preliminary hydrological surveys have been completed and the project has entered the land acquisition stage.

In a customer advisory issued on Monday, the utility said hydrological surveys were successfully conducted in Nabingo, Kasenge and the surrounding areas to guide the planned infrastructure developments.

NWSC said it is currently engaging landowners to facilitate the next phase of the project, which is expected to strengthen water supply across the targeted communities.

According to the corporation, the proposed Nabingo water supply intervention will serve Greater Nabingo, including Bataka I and II, Kyigwanya, Nabingo Trinity and neighbouring communities.

The utility added that similar infrastructure projects are being prepared for Maya, Nakirama, Kasenge and Kyambazi to expand access to reliable water services.

Under the planned works, the Maya project will primarily serve residents in the Maya area, while the Kasenge–Nakirama intervention will provide water to Nakirama, Kasenge and parts of Nakawuka Road.

NWSC said the projects are intended to improve water pressure, enhance reliability of supply and increase access to clean water for both households and businesses once completed.

The corporation appealed to residents for patience and continued support as discussions with land owner’s progress, noting that regular updates will be provided as the project advances.

The planned investments form part of NWSC’s ongoing efforts to expand water infrastructure and improve service delivery in rapidly growing urban and peri-urban areas around the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area.
