UNEB announces registration deadline for 2025 exams
KAMPALA: The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has alerted the heads of primary and secondary school examination centers across Uganda to register their candidates for the 2025 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE). According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) press statement, July 31st, 2025, is the last day to register candidates for the examinations.
Mr. Dan N. Odongo, the Executive Director of UNEB, urged heads of centers to make use of the remaining time to register any learners that had not been registered.
“Heads of Centres are advised to make use of the remaining time to register any learners that have not been registered, so that no learner, who is supposed to sit for this year’s examinations, is left out,” Mr. Odongo stated.
With over 1.4 million candidates already registered, representing a 6.8% increase from last year’s candidature, UNEB is keen to ensure that all candidates are properly registered and that their data is accurate.
After registration, schools would be required to display the registers of candidates in accessible places at the school premises to enable candidates and parents to confirm the status of registration as well as the correctness of the registration data. UNEB would also provide an SMS option for the same purpose.
“No learner, who is supposed to sit for this year’s examinations, should be left out,” said Odongo.
